When a wired Ethernet (RJ45) connection stops working, we can inspect accessible equipment and use available link information to narrow down the issue. The goal is to distinguish routine device or patch-connection problems from work that needs a specialist.

What’s included

  • Inspect accessible patch leads, ports, and equipment indicators
  • Check supported device link status and configuration
  • Document findings for repair, replacement, or provider follow-up

Common problems this solves

  • A wired connection that stopped working
  • A port or device with no link light
  • A suspected faulty patch lead or port
  • Not knowing whether a fault is equipment, cabling, or the provider

What you receive

A clear account of checks performed and whether an equipment change, provider visit, or cabling specialist is recommended.

Limitations and exclusions

  • We work with copper Ethernet (RJ45) connections only; we don’t provide fiber-optic installation or testing
  • Structural cable installation, termination, certification, and electrical work are not included
  • Specialist testing is referred out when it is needed

Pricing

Priced like network troubleshooting: $99 for the first hour, then $65 per additional hour. We work with copper Ethernet (RJ45) connections only. We don’t provide fiber-optic installation or testing, and no structural cable installation, termination, certification, or electrical work is included. Specialist testing is referred out when needed.

Hardware, parts, software licenses, hosting, travel, and third-party subscriptions are billed separately unless a service says otherwise. You approve a written estimate before work begins.

Questions about Ethernet & Network Connectivity

Can you certify my cabling?

No. Certification is not part of this service. We use the checks available to narrow down the fault and recommend a specialist if one is needed.

Do you work with fiber?

No. We work with copper Ethernet (RJ45) connections only and do not provide fiber-optic installation or testing. If your internet service from your provider is fiber, we can still check the Ethernet connections inside your home or office.

What should I do before the appointment?

Identify the affected connection and make equipment accessible.
